Foreign Policy est un magazine américain bimestriel créé en 1970 par Samuel P. Huntington et Warren Demian Manshel. Il était publié jusqu'à fin 2009 par la Fondation Carnegie pour la Paix Internationale à Washington, D.C.. Il a été racheté par The Washington Post Company fin septembre 2009[1]. Les thèmes centraux sont les affaires étrangères et l'économie.
Début 2006, le blog Foreign Policy Passport est créé et en octobre de la même année, l'édition française est lancée par François Roche et Dimitri Friedman[réf. nécessaire].
Les éditorialistes les plus prestigieux de son édition anglaise sont Moisés Naím et William Dobson.
Depuis 2008, Susan Glasser assure les fonctions de rédactice en chef (editor in chief et executive editor)[2]
Il en existe plusieurs autres versions à travers le monde, structurellement liées à l'édition américaine[3] et reprenant une partie de celle-ci dans des éditions loxcalisées : en albanais, en arabe, en espagnol (versions argentine et espagnole), en bulgare, en coréen, en portugais et en roumain.
Les éditions en ligne de Foreign Policy dépendent de The Washington Post Company au travers de sa filiale The Slate Group.
